A city school needs a higher boundary fence to stop pupils looking into next-door gardens.
The work is being proposed at the old Rockwell High site, which will host the decanted Harris Academy for the next three years while its Perth Road building is being replaced.
There are not enough classrooms to cope with the influx, so seven modular classrooms will have to be brought in. They will be placed in the playground next to Rockwell Place.
A planning application explains that most of the units will be stacked two-high, with a single-storey unit closest to the boundary.
The existing 1.2m wall is not high enough to prevent overlooking of the properties so a 1.8m fence will be built on top of it, provided councillors give the go-ahead next week.
Two residents have objected, complaining about shadowing and loss of light, noise and infringement on privacy.
The application states: “The views of the objectors are not supported.
“The proposed modular units are of a scale, design and massing that respect the amenity of the neighbouring properties as well as the appearance of the existing school building.
“The position of the units and the erection of additional boundary fencing shall alleviate any concerns with overshadowing or overlooking, with the fencing acting as an acoustic barrier should any noise instances occur.”
