Andy Murray’s Dunblane hotel starts recruitment drive

Tennis ace Andy Murray’s luxury hotel has launched a recruitment drive.

The Wimbledon champion bought Cromlix House near his home town of Dunblane for almost £2 million.

He hopes to transform it into a five-star venue which will open next year, ahead of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.

A massive redevelopment project is under way and Murray’s representatives have now opened an application process for several posts.

The hotel is taking on an assistant general manager, a food and beverage manager, a duty manager, an executive housekeeper and an assistant housekeeper.

A vacancy is also open for an assistant restaurant manager at Chez Roux, which will be overseen by world-famous father and son team Albert and Michel Roux Jr.

The hotel is being managed by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI).

Managing director Norbert Lieder said: “Cromlix will be one of Scotland’s leading luxury hotels and Chez Roux will be among the best restaurants in the area.

“We are looking for skilled, passionate staff who will become part of an award-winning team, and are keen to recruit locally where possible.

“There is much anticipation for the opening of Cromlix around the world, making this a career-changing opportunity for those who are successful. And, of course, working for ICMI and the Rouxs offers a long-term prospect of travel and personal growth.

“I’m sure we will receive a number of very strong applications the selection process will be rigorous.”

When it reopens the hotel will have five suites and 10 bedrooms, a chapel, a reception hall, two drawing rooms, a conservatory, a library and meeting rooms, as well as the Chez Roux restaurant.

ICMI already manages eight other renowned independent properties around Scotland, including Inverlochy Castle, near Fort William, the Greywalls Hotel in Gullane and the Atholl, in Edinburgh.

ICMI’s group of industry experts includes Albert Roux, owner of Le Gavroche in London, the first UK restaurant to receive three Michelin stars.
