National Theatre of Scotland production Let the Right One In has clinched the prestigious South Bank Show Theatre award.
The production saw off competition from the National Theatre’s Othello and the Headlong and the Almeida Theatre’s production of Chimerica.
Let the Right One In premiered at Dundee Rep last year and recently enjoyed a sell-out run at the Royal Court Theatre in London.
Directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winning John Tiffany, the stage adaptation by Jack Thorne was based on the 2004 cult Swedish novel and 2008 film of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
This is the second time the National Theatre of Scotland has won the award, following on from its success with Black Watch in 2007.

Let the Right One In tells the story of centuries-old vampire Eli and her growing relationship with lonely, bullied boy Oskar.
As a brutal murder inquiry unfolds, Oskar’s worried mother falls deeper into her own problems, leaving the young boy struggling to fit in, persecuted by school bullies.
The original cast included Rebecca Benson, Paul Thomas Hickey, Lorraine McIntosh, Angus Miller, Cristian Ortega, Martin Quinn, Chris Reilly, Stuart Ryan, Ewan Steward and featured music by lafur Arnalds.
Stark lighting designed by Chahine Yavroyan and spindly tree trunks from Fife’s Tentsmuir Forest were used by set designer Christine Jones to provide the backdrop for the tale, which sees Eli’s loyalty to Oskar culminate in the dramatic climax involving a tank of water.
