Driver lucky to escape serious injury in A90 crash

A 20-year-old woman has had a lucky escape after her car careered into a bus shelter and then flipped on to its side.
The accident occurred on the southbound carriageway of the A90 between Forfar and Dundee on Tuesday afternoon.
Incredibly, the woman suffered only a minor head injury and was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital as a precaution.
Police reduced traffic to a single lane for around an hour as the wreckage was cleared from the busy carriageway, not far from the Happas junction.
It was only as the black Ford Fiesta was being recovered by a salvage team that the impact of the crash became clear.
The front of the vehicle had been crushed beyond repair and the windscreen smashed. A short distance back, the bus shelter that took the full force of the car had been ripped apart.
