A councillor was given a first-hand view of how community wardens work in Perth when he took to the streets with a team.
Community safety convener Councillor Douglas Pover joined a patrol in Tulloch. Community warden services operate in two zones in Perth Letham/Hillyland and Muirton/North Muirton and Rattray/Blairgowrie.
Wardens are “the eyes and ears” of the communities, acting as a link to other agencies and working closely with area housing teams, schools, youth clubs and voluntary groups in their patrol areas.
The uniformed wardens report on any problematic issues in the communities they patrol and have instigated several initiatives to help both young and old residents.
Mr Pover said: “It was great to join the safer communities wardens on patrol in Perth and I would like to thank them for having me.
“They do an invaluable job and are there to assist people with any issues or problems they might have and to build positive relationships in the communities they serve.”
