The show must go on and on and on.
That could be the motto of the seven members of Carnoustie Musical Society who have notched up more than two centuries of service between them.
Proving he is truly a super trouper, Robert Seaton has been presented with a gold award for his unprecedented 50 years as a member.
Other recipients of long-service awards are honorary vice-president Agnes Davis (40 years), Brian Boyd (35 years), Joanna Fitzgerald (30 years), Rodger Brunton and Liz Pardoe (both 25 years) and society president Susan Kydd, who has completed 20 years.
Susan said: “It is fantastic that CMS can honour and celebrate the achievements and longevity of its members with these awards.
“As Robert has shown, you don’t have to be in the spotlight on stage to enjoy being part of the society and making your contribution.
“And as Agnes has shown, you can use your talents of performing and creativity in many ways, while sharing your enjoyment with your friends.
“The other winners may well go on to match Agnes and Robert’s achievements as long as CMS continues to enjoy the support of audiences in Carnoustie.”
The awards were presented backstage by Ron Stewart, regional representative of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association and his wife Rita after a recent performance of Meet Me In St Louis. Also present was Noda’s UK vice-president Bert Lumsden.
