A CITY council service for adults with learning disabilities has been praised for the high standard of care and support it provides.
The members of the supported living team are “committed and enthusiastic” and have coped well with a increase in the number of people they look after, inspectors have found.
A Care Inspectorate report said: “Service users clearly feel valued as individuals and are confident, happy and relaxed in their homes.
“Information regarding service delivery, support planning and health is shared withindividuals and theirfamilies.
“We found strong evidence to confirm that the service and staff who work within it promote a strong culture of self-empowerment and participation.”
Closure of a care home had left the team having to cope with extra clients.
“Staff told us how families had been heavily involved in the transition and in sharing past history and information for a number of new service users.
“Good examples include choosing colour schemes, furniture and personal items for their own rooms,” the inspectors said.
