A Dundee father-of-two has died at the age of 37.
Graeme Bruce, of Dunholm Road, fought to save a children’s rope swing last year after council workers cut it down.
Neighbours have now lain tributes to him at the tree the swing hangs from.
His wife Charmain, 35, who met him 20 years ago, said he was at the heart of the close-knit community.
She said: “He was the kind of guy who would help anybody and do anything. If it was something that he truly believed in, then he would fight for it like the swing.
“If he hadn’t bugged everybody about it then it would have been left, but he kept saying he wasn’t done with it.
“We’ve got a proper close community and he was at the middle of it he was always the first person up for a laugh.
“At the funeral we have asked for people to wear pink because, 10 years ago on holiday in Majorca, Graeme injured himself and he couldn’t take part in the men’s section of a Mr and Mrs competition.
“On the day of the women’s contest, he put on a pink dress, a wig and make-up and won.”
Graeme, who had worked at BT and Tesco call centres, passed away at Ninewells Hospital on Tuesday after an illness. He is survived by son Corben, 13, and daughter Samantha, 8.
The funeral will be held at Dundee Crematorium on Tuesday at 1.15pm and anyone wishing to lay tributes can do so at the tree on Dunholm Road.
