Perth woman Helen Dickson has died at the age of 102.
Born in April 1911, Miss Dickson grew up in the city, living for a long time on James Street.
She was from a musical family her father, David, was a church organist, while Miss Dickson and her late sister Laurie were both singers.
She went to the Caledonian Road School and took up office work when she left school.
Miss Dickson was a bookkeeper and worked at Hamilton’s Laundry on Dunkeld Road, Tay Salmon Fisheries Office and latterlywith the GA. She volunteered as a fire watcher based at the old Dunkeld Road swimming baths during the Second World War.
Miss Dickson joined the Gaelic Society with her sister Laurie and also sang with the Perth Amateur Operatic Society.
The church was also very important to Miss Dickson.She was a member of Trinity Church and latterly North Church when she moved to Florence Place.
She eventually moved into Moncrieffe Care Home and spent her last eight years there.
