A hunt has been launched for the owners of a distinctive white cat found abandoned in Kirkcaldy.
The terrified moggie, who has now been named Madison, was found by a member of the public inside a doorless pet carrier in Carberry Road last Saturday.
It is thought the young female cat was found still cowering inside the carrier because she had been too frightened to move.
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information to help trace the person who dumped Madison, who is now being cared for by the charity.
Animal rescue officer Robyn Gray said: “Madison was left in a pet carrier that had a missing door. I think the only reason she hadn’t run away is because she was too terrified to move.”
Abandoning an animal is an offence and anyone found guilty of doing so can expect to be banned from keeping animals. Anyone with information is being urged to call the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999999.
