City centre offices formerly occupied by investment group Alliance Trust are set to be turned into student flats.
AKG Property Group has won planning permission for the development at 56 Reform Street and it intends to create six flats with a total of 28 bedrooms on the first, second and third floors.
The B-listed building used to be linked with neighbouring Meadow House and both were owned by Alliance Trust until it moved to West Marketgait.
A council planning officer’s report said: “The integration of the two buildings was somewhat complicated due to major differences in floor levels.
“It is the applicant’s intention to revert to the original format and develop each section independently.”
Each flat will have four or five bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room and kitchen. The report said allowing the development would not result in an excessive concentration of student accommodation in the area.
It added: “The proposal involves only limited external alterations to the building which will not impact upon the character and setting of the streetscape.”
