A thrilling white water rafting challenge has helped 16 employees at Tayside’s largest property firm to raise more than £3,500 for charity.
Staff from Thorntons Property Services took to the churning water of the river Tay in aid of Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.
They took on the rapids between Aberfeldy and Gradtully, which have a reputation as some of the toughest and best in the UK.
Thorntons’ Tracy Smith said: “It was a great event to be a part of and we had a lot of fun.
“The wintry conditions did leave us feeling rather chilly, but we raised £3,511 for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, which is amazing.”
The charity is a cause close to the group’s heart.
A member of the team’s brother-in-law had a heart attack two years ago and underwent revolutionary new surgery which allowed him to recover more speedily than would otherwise have been the case, while a colleague at Thorntons is still recuperating after suffering a stroke 18 months ago.
