The breakfast of champions, lunch of celebrity chefs and dinner of at least one world leader is on the menu for a Mearns school.
The pupils of Catterline Primary School wrote to UK athletes, authors and celebrities for recipes to add to a fund-raising cookbook.
A Spurtle in the Mock Turtle is launched at the Catterline Gala, from 1.30-4pm, featuring recipes from Prime Minister David Cameron, the Queen’s chef Mark Flanagan, the Brownlee brothers, Sir Alex Ferguson and many others.
The parent group’s secretary, Hilary Mackay, said they were delighted by how many well-known names wrote back.
A sheepish letter from David Attenborough admitted he could do no more than scramble eggs so could not provide a recipe.
“It was a lovely handwritten letter and it was quite funny, and great that he’d taken the time to write back,” said Mrs Mackay.
Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson revealed the makings of Gruffalo Crumble, and Manchester United provided a recipe for tiramisu on behalf of the team’s then manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
“I can imagine him in the kitchen making this in his pinny!” said Mrs Mackay.
David Cameron wrote in with a recipe for Italian sausagemeat pasta perhaps proving his Europhile credentials.
Mrs Mackay said: “The school has about 60 children and they were all very good at sending out requests and many of the people they wrote to came back.”
The book also includes recipes from chefs Rick Stein, Delia Smith, the Hairy Bikers, Simon Rimmer, Nick Nairn, and Tom Kitchin; authors Andy Stanton, Cathy Cassidy, Michel Morpurgo, and Sue Mongredien; Olympic and Paralympicmedallists Louis Smith, Alex Gregory, Mickey Bushell, Joanna Rowsell, and Hannah Cockroft; television personalities Elaine C Smith, Harry Hill, ChrisJohnson, “Mr Tumble” Justin Fletcher, and Jim McColl of the Beechgrove Garden; and staff and players at Scottish Rugby Union.
