A Dundee man was convicted twice within minutes in separate courtrooms of supplying drugs, firstly being found guilty in the High Court, then admitting a separate offence in the sheriff court.
Niki George Hunter, 31, of Cassidy Walk, Whitfield, was found guilty by a jury at the High Court along with co-accused Sean Kevin Massey, 22, of Craigievar Walk, Ormiston Crescent, of supplying heroin worth around £200,000.
Hunter was then whisked through to another courtroom at Dundee Sheriff Court where he admitted a second drugs offence.
Hunter and Massey were both found guilty after trial at the High Court in Dundee of, on November 15 last year, at Tranent Walk, Dundee, and elsewhere unknown, being concerned in the supplying of diamorphine.
Following the four-day trial, both men were remanded in custody as sentence was deferred for four weeks for reports.
Two former co-accused, Raymond Cossar, 27, of Cottar Street, Glasgow, and Sean Raymond Campbell, 25, c/o Norman, Findhorn Street, had earlier admitted the same charge.
They were remanded in custody last week and will appear on the same date, July 18, at Edinburgh High Court for sentencing.
All four were arrested following a major drugs squad surveillance operation.
Temporary Detective Inspector Scott Thompson said: “We are very satisfied with the verdict at the High Court in Dundee today and the outcome of the case.
“Yet again it highlights our determination to disrupt those serious and organised crime groups that seek to make profit in our area from the misery of others.
“On this occasion, we have not only disrupted the activities of a serious organised crime group, we have also been successful in removing approximately £200,000 worth of Class A drugs from the supply chain.”
Following Monday’s High Court verdict, Hunter was then taken through the building to court four at the sheriff court, where he admitted that on April 19 last year, at Cardoness Walk, he was concerned in the supplying of amphetamine.
He was remanded in custody by Sheriff Elizabeth Munro, who deferred sentence until June 24.
Co-accused Steven Edward Perrie, 47, was fined £250 by the sheriff after admitting possessing cocaine worth an estimated £150 on the same date and place.
