Daytime TV star Lorraine Kelly was among thousands of women who took part in the Race for Life in Dundee.
Almost 3,000 women turned out to defy cancer by joining in 5K and 10K events around Camperdown Park to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s pioneering work.
Among the sea of women dressed in pink were many who have survived cancer themselves or who participated in memory or celebration of loved ones.

The Daybreak star, who lives in Broughty Ferry, was the guest of honour and she ran the 5K course.
This year is the fourth time she has joined the race in Dundee and she said: “It’s such a fun way to celebrate life surrounded by an amazing army of tutus and tiaras.
“But on the day, it always hits home why I am doing it.”
Lorraine, who sounded the air horn to start the event, added: “I have taken part in the events many times over the years and I find the whole experience very heartwarming, inspiring and motivating.”
Last year, participants in Dundee raised an incredible £156,000 and organisers hope to raise even more this year.

Jayne Glasgow, Race for Life event manager in Dundee, said: “We are very grateful to Lorraine.
“Looking at all the ‘back signs’ that women wear at the event, declaring why they are taking part in Race for Life, is a very emotional experience.
“By taking part in Race for Life, these ladies are helping Cancer Research UK’s doctors, nurses and scientists make advances in research which will help more men, women and children survive.”
