The Muncher moved on to its main course as it continued to devour a little-loved Dundee landmark. Safedem’s high-reach excavator began feasting on the central structure of Tayside House after digesting the east-facing lift shafts of the building. Managing director William Sinclair said: “The demolition is progressing exactly as planned in a controlled and steady fashion. “We are working from top to bottom, similar to cutting slices out of a cake.” The company was delighted with the performance of its “muncher” which complemented its existing fleet. The former office block is on target to be eaten away by the end of June as part of the £1 billion central waterfront redevelopment.
