A Mearns man has admitted engaging in a sex act with a teenage girl under the age of 16.
Cairn Gibson, 24, from Laurencekirk appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court and admitted two sexual offences.
He admitted sending written communication of a sexual nature to a girl via text messages, Facebook, Skype and other social media between December 31 2012 and January 19 2013.
He further admitted committing a sex act with the same female between the same dates.
Sentence was deferred to March 5 for the preparation of criminal justice social work reports and bail was continued.
The first offender, of Gardenston Street, will be subject to notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act.
