The Montrose Society will this week host an evening of Scots vernacular poetry, led by nationally renowned poet Raymond Vettese.
Arbroath-born Raymond, who lives in Montrose, has several well recognised published works to his name, including The Richt Noise, which won the Saltire Society Best First Book Award.
There will be contributions from other local poetry aficionados with an emphasis on the humorous aspects of Scots life.
In the spirit of the event being the closest meeting of the group to Burns night, haggis bites and wine will be served.
The meeting takes place at the Legends Suite of the George Hotel on Thursday, starting at 7pm. Visitors are welcome.
