Seven-figure savings made by Perth and Kinross Council will be outlined to councillors today.
Since 2010, the local authority has delivered a total of £7.4 million of savings through service reviews and is now on track to meet its target of £9.2m of savings by 2013-14.
Council leader Ian Miller said the local authority was facing “unprecedented” financial challenges alongside changing demands for services, due to the growing population of Perth and Kinross.
“To ensure we can provide the support that people most need now and into the future, we must change the way in which we deliver vital services,” he added.
“We are looking at all aspects of the council’s work to identify opportunities to improve what we do and put in place services that are sustainable.”
The report will also set out plans for future reviews, as well as services that are being transformed or developed through the Investment in Improvement Fund and the Change Fund.
A total of £1.34m has been earmarked for the former, which goes towards projects such as the redesign of services for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities.
Mr Miller said: “Our transformation programme is delivering major frontline projects that are focused on meeting the needs of our communities, and at the same time making significant, necessary savings.”
