Eight people have been reported to the procurator fiscal following a crackdown on anti-social motorcyclists in Buckhaven and Wemyss.
Community constables have also issued 12 warnings following the action on people riding illegally on the paths and tracks in the Wemyss Estate.
The weekend operation came in response to concerns raised by local people and farmers about damage to crops, disruption to wildlife and danger to walkers.
PC Bruce Bennett, who coordinated the operation, said: “As well as issuing the warnings and reports to the procurator fiscal, useful information was obtained about regular offenders.
“We will continue to take action in the area and deal with people who ride their motorcycles and quads illegally.”
Inspector Donald Jenks said police anticipated an increase in the illegal use of motorcycles and quads with the onset of spring.
He added: “Fife Constabulary will be using every piece of legislation at our disposal to ensure that those involved in illegal use of motorcycles are caught, as well as facing the prospect of having their motorcycles seized.”
Anyone with information on illegal motorbikes can call police on the new non- emergency number 101.
