Police are anxious to trace a bus passenger as they continue their inquiries into a sex attack on a 16-year-old girl.
The incident happened at about 11.20pm on Wednesday February 20 in a wooded area on South Road, near its junction with Arran Drive, when the teenager was approached by a man and sexually assaulted.
He then ran off up a pathway towards Menzieshill, leaving his victim uninjured but extremely distressed.
Officers are keen to trace a man, who boarded a number 28 bus from South Road, near to Buttar’s Loan, just after 11.20pm.
The bus travelled to the city centre, where the man exited the bus in Albert Street about 11.30pm. He walked towards Panmure Street/Murraygate.
The man is described as wearing a dark, hooded jacket with the hood up, a dark tammy under the hood, a pair of dark jeans and black shoes.
Tayside Police said it would encourage the man from the bus to come forward so he can be eliminated from inquiries, or for anyone who knows the identity of the man to contact them.
A review of CCTV coverage is continuing and officers have visited more than 180 houses during door to door inquiries and taken around 50 witness statements
Tayside Police have appealed to anyone who was on board the bus or anyone who saw the man, either in South Road or in the city centre, to contact police on 101 or speak to their local officer.
