Police in North-East Fife are appealing for information after two thefts in the area overnight, between Monday February 25 and Tuesday February 26.
Between 6.30pm and 7.10 am premises in Balmalcolm were broken into and a quantity of money stolen.
Between 8.30pm and 7.40am, a van parked near Monimail was broken into and a Stihl climbing saw, two Stihl ground saws, a Husqvarna chain saw and a Stihl long-reach hedge cutter, as well as a large amount of equipment used for climbing trees, was stolen.
Chief Inspector Jill Harper, area commander for North-East Fife, said: “We enjoy a close relationship with our communities and I would encourage anyone who saw a strange vehicle in these areas to note the registration number and to report it to the police.
“Although crime in Fife has been reduced by 49% in the last seven years, communities and my officers have a great opportunity to work together to reduce this figure even further.
“If you have any information about these crimes, or see anyone who appears out of place, please call us on the new non-emergency number 101.”
