Film director Ken Loach to take part in Q&A session at DCA
ByAlan Wilson
Film fans are being given the chance to talk directly to movie director Ken Loach about his new documentary on post-war Britain at Dundee Contemporary Arts on Sunday.
The veteran filmmaker is to take part in a satellite question and answer session at DCA Cinema following the 3pm screening of The Spirit of ’45, which celebrates the change in Britain after the Second World War.
Using film from Britain’s regional and national archives alongside interviews and sound recordings, the film explores and celebrates the period of social change from VE to the present day.
Moving from the creation of the welfare state through the 20th century to now, The Spirit of ’45 presents a humane and rousing view of society’s potential for change.
Joining Ken Loach in the live satellite session after the film are panellists Owen Jones, author of Chavs; and Dot Gibson, general secretary of the National Pensioners Convention.
