Pupils from throughout Tayside have been displaying their public speaking skills this week in the Communications and Performance Examinations.
The event at Fowlis Easter Church has seen youngsters from Angus, Dundee and Perthshire compete in various verse-speaking and storytelling categories. They are also competing for The Courier Cup for the overall winner.
CAPE was formed in 2003 to give Scottish pupils an opportunity to develop their skills in communication, the speaking of poetry and text, reading for performance, public speaking, performance, acting, mime and improvisation.

Principal Liz Glenn said: “CAPE encourages the use and study of all types of Scottish literature and accepts gladly the use of dialect where appropriate.
“The pleasure gained by achieving the grades, medals and diplomas is apparent in the faces of candidates at each examination session.”
