Glenshee ski Centre is hoping fresh snowfall over the last few days will bring them a bumper Easter weekend.
Bosses at the resort hope thousands of people will take advantage of a long weekend to take to the slopes.
They say that despite a late start they have had an above average number of skiers descend on the slopes so far this season.
Stewart Davidson, a director at Glenshee, said: “The conditions are excellent because of all the new snow.
“We were closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday because there was too much snow and the roads were closed.
“We hope next weekend will be bumper because people are off, but it’s difficult to know until the day.”
Mr Davidson said he expected anywhere between 500 and 2000 skiers on the slopes each day next weekend, but said he would be happy with around 1000.
He added that the season had been “pretty good” so far, despite a lull in business.
He said: “It’s been quite quiet in the last week we were only open for three days and it was quiet the week before.
“It’s always quiet at this time of year but hopefully this blast of fresh snow will get it back in people’s minds again.”
A busy weekend would be a relief to staff who have experienced a shorter season than previous winters.
Mr Davidson said: “We didn’t really get started until mid-January, but the season has been quite good.
“The amount of snow we have had over the last few weeks has been unbelievable we’ve had no mild weather, which is unusual.
“Normally (at this time of year) we have some snow but not huge amounts, but there’s a lot of it and it will be here for a few weeks yet.”
The weekend’s heavy snowfall meant the Cairngorm slopes remained closed yesterday.
A recorded message on the resort’s phone line told skiers that the situation would be reviewed at 7am today.
In the message a spokesman said: “Cairngorm Mountain offices are closed for the day.
“This is to allow staff to dig out after the storms, get the buildings ready, the piste ready and the roads safe for the public.”
The centre has welcomed around 50,000 visitors so far this season, a figure which Mr Davidson described as “above average”.
“We hope to be open sometime tomorrow but we will update the message around 7am.”
The Met office is expecting more snow to fall over Glenshee in the coming days, though Cairngorm will escape further blizzards.
Snowfall is expected today, tomorrow and Friday, with temperatures dipping as low as -6C during the day, with wind-chill making it feel more like -13C.
