Tayside Police targeted the flat on the city’s Skinnergate, just yards from the High Street, shortly after 10am. Cannabis plants were seized by officers, who were acting on tip-offs from members of the public. Plant material could be seen scattered on the pavement outside the flat following the operation. There was no information on the number of plants recovered, nor on their potential value. Tayside Police refused to elaborate on the nature of the investigation, saying that it was an “ongoing incident”. The police have enjoyed recent successes as a result of tip-offs from the public. In December, drugs with a street value of £350,000 were seized when police raided a flat on Athole Street, Coupar Angus. Hundreds of cannabis plants were found in a “sophisticated drug cultivation”.
