A Perth man was fined £250 at the city’s sheriff court for assaulting his partner.
The court heard that Derek Kelly (46), of Shore Road, had been out drinking with the woman in Perth, and they ended up arguing.
Depute fiscal Carol Whyte said there was an argument in the early hours of the morning, which developed into a struggle and led to the assault.
“The accused struck the woman in the face,” she said.
“However, the woman was not injured. The police were then contacted and the accused was detained and taken to police HQ in Perth.”
Kelly admitted that on January 20 at Lingay Court, Perth, he assaulted a woman by striking her on the face. Solicitor Mark Alder, defending, said his client and the woman had both “consumed alcohol”.
“The pair had an argument earlier that day and this one, which occurred later in the day, got out of hand,” he said.
“My client is very remorseful for his actions. The complainer wishes to continue the relationship with my client.”
