The accountancy and professional services firm leading efforts to save Dunfermline Athletic has completed a merger with one of the globe’s major names.
PKF, whose Bryan Jackson acted as administrator for Dundee, Motherwell and Clyde, and is also charged with sorting out the finances at East End Park, has now become part of BDO following a deal initially announced in the run-up to Christmas.
The move means the newly-combined limited liability partnership will employ 3,500 people across 24 UK offices, and enjoy domestic revenues of up to £400m a year.
BDO International commanded total fees of $6.02 billion from 138 territories last year.
BDO lead partner for Scotland Martin Gill said the merger would give his firm greater strength in depth and a larger reach across the UK.
PKF’s 200 staff in Edinburgh and Glasgow will transfer as part of the deal, with a joint office established at BDO’s Atlantic Quay office.
BDO regards the merger with PKF (UK) LLP as “transformational” for its own mid-market ambitions, and the broader professional services market.
