Specialist council staff are to help primary school pupils come to terms with the loss of their head teacher.
Discussions are set to take place to decide the best way to support children affected by the tragic death of Errol Primary School head teacher Alan McKenzie.
Mr McKenzie died on April 1 after a family day out went tragically wrong. He had been out sledging with partner Christina and daughters Sylvie and Mollie when the group decided to walk across Dow Loch, near Cleish.
Mr McKenzie plunged through the ice sheet at around 3pm, while around 30 metres from the shore.
He shouted at his family to get off the ice and then spent 20 minutes trying to free himself before slipping under the water.
His daughter Sylvie, 14, raced down the hill to call emergency services, who then rushed to the scene.
Fire and ambulance crews launched a rescue operation involving 26 firefighters from four stations Kinross, Perth, Lochgelly and Dundee.
Two RAF sea king helicopters were also drafted in to help with crews hoping the downdraught could help break through the ice.
Dive teams located Mr McKenzie’s body at around 5.25pm on Thursday.
Employees from the council’s education and children’s services will meet teachers at the school when term starts next Monday.
