Two women have been assaulted after going to the aid of a taxi driver in Perth.
The pair were already in the silver Vauxhall Zafira in Murray Street when the man got into the vehicle at 03.15 on Sunday morning.
After setting off the driver stopped and told him to leave the cab in North Methven Street, after he started verbally abusing the women. The suspect assaulted the taxi driver and went on to attack the two females after they tried to help him.
The females were punched and kicked a number of times on the face and body and required hospital treatment as a result of the attack. Police Scotland have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
The man was described as being white, in his late twenties, 5ft 6in, of slim build with a slim face. He had stubble on his chin and short dark hair and was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, blue denim jeans and dark shoes.
Police said there were a number of people in the area at the time and it is believed the incident may have been witnessed by passers-by.
