Paul Di Resta is hoping to give Force India further cause to celebrate this week on the occasion of their 100th grands prix.
The Silverstone-based marque are enjoying their best start to a season since Vijay Mallya took over the team formerly known as Spyker in October 2007.
Di Resta and team-mate Adrian Sutil have accumulated 44 points between them to leave Force India in fifth place in the constructors’ championship after the opening six races.
With Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix a landmark event for Force India, Di Resta is confident the team can continue that form.
“We’ve been competitive on every track this year and that’s a credit to the team, so we expect to be at our usual level again,” said Di Resta.
“It’s traditionally a track that has suited us, so we go there confident we can fight towards the front again.
“One hundred races is a significant achievement and it’s great to see how much the team has grown during that time.”
Team principal and co-owner Mallya added: “When we started back in 2008 we simply had the ambition to break out of Q1 and we dreamed of scoring points.
“Seeing where we stand today is therefore extremely rewarding and motivates us to continue working just as hard.”
Mallya believes the result in Monaco, where Sutil and Di Resta were fifth and ninth respectively, was one in the eye for those who continue to doubt Force India.
Mallya appreciates, however, seeing one of his drivers standing on the podium remains elusive, with the team achieving the feat just once in 99 previous races.
“Both our drivers and the team performed superbly on the streets of Monte Carlo and it is very satisfying to see us fifth in the championship after a third of the season,” said Mallya.
“I think we are now knocking on the door of our first podium finish since 2009, and it’s time to do that all-important step.
“Montreal would be a great place to do so. It is a track that favours overtaking and our car has shown the pace to finish among the leaders, so everything is possible.”
