Four pets in Scotland who collectively weigh 21 stone (133kg) are taking part in a UK slimming competition.
In total 13 dogs, five cats and three rabbits are taking part in the six month diet and exercise programme as part of the Pet Fit Club organised by veterinary charity the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA).
The Scottish pets group comprises Staffordshire bull terrier TJ which has a “dangerous obsession” with chocolate, Ziggy the cat which lives up to his rock star name through indulgence, cocker spaniel Nyah eats “everything and anything” and rottweiler Rico which is the heaviest of the group at 9st 12lbs (63kg).
All of the pets are categorised as obese or morbidly obese by the charity which will name one animal its slimmer of the year.
The heaviest pet in the group is Mizzy, a bull mastiff from Derby, which weighs 11st 4lbs (72kg).
