The Taser was deployed by an officer at Glenrothes police station on Tuesday December 2. Police are required to refer all firearms discharges, including Tasers, to the PIRC. A report will be submitted to the Deputy Chief Constable in due course. Chief Superintendent Elaine Ferguson said: “There are no injuries to the officer or their colleagues. “This occurred in a restricted area and there was no danger to the public.”
