Raith Rovers say they are “delighted” after an agreement was reached with Rangers to extend the loan deal of Barrie McKay until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old winger has made 13 appearances since joining the Kirkcaldy club in September, but it looked as though he would be returning to Ibrox with his short-term contract coming to an end this week.
However, talks between the two clubs have proved fruitful and McKay will now stay at Stark’s Park until the end of the current Championship campaign.
McKay admitted on Twitter that he was “disappointed not to be needed” by parent club Rangers, but added that he was enjoying his spell at Raith and was happy for that to continue.
