A Perth family have paid an emotional tribute to their “wonderful” daughter, who died aged just 18.
Natasha Alexandra Reid passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at the family home in July.
The Rev Jim Wallace led a moving service celebrating Natasha’s life at a packed St John’s Kirk in Perth.
Parents Paul and Linda and younger sister Rebecca (17) are still struggling to come to terms with their loss but said the teenager’s many achievements left behind a lasting legacy.
The former Perth Academy pupil was a professional grade 8 level keyboard player and taught at Perthshire Music School, where she had a large number of devoted students. She was also an excellent drummer and was learning the piano.
Achieving seven Highers, she was an excellent student and was due to start at Abertay University in Dundee this month to study social sciences.
She was also a keen athlete all through school, crowned Goodlyburn sports champion in Primary 7 and gaining a Sports Leader award in her sixth year.
Away from school, Natasha enjoyed going on holiday with her family and her long-term boyfriend Scott Shaw.
She and Scott had been due to go on a trip-of-a-lifetime to Cuba this year with friends.
Natasha held down part-time posts at both Debenhams and Marks & Spencer in Perth, where she was a popular member of the workforce.
Dad Paul said, “Our beautiful Natasha had become a very independent young adult, who we are all very proud of.
“She touched so many lives in a positive and caring way and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
“Natasha loved her family, always happy going on family outings to St Andrews Beach, The Hermitage, or just feeding the ducks at Faskally at an early age with granny and granddad.
“She and her sister Rebecca did everything together from an early age, including swimming lessons, gymnastics club, Mandy Malloch School of Dancing and music lessons.
“She had also passed her driving test and had just got her own wee car. She loved the independence it gave her, often helping granny with her shopping or taking a run to Pitlochry.
“She doted on her students and constantly worried over them achieving good grades. However, she had nothing to be concerned about as two of her pupils achieved 100% in recent examinations, a first for Perthshire Music School.
“Scott and Tasha were very much in love and spent a lot of time together, going on various outings over their four years together.”
Paul added, “Our memories of her are too many to include but our last family holiday together to Florida was very special. We spent a day at Discovery Cove, where we swam with dolphins an experience we will never forget.”
