THE FAMILY of an Angus sex attacker convicted of a string of offences against Dundee prostitutes have protested his innocence and say they will stand by him.
Kenneth Jolly is now in prison awaiting sentence after a High Court jury found him guilty of raping one woman and indecently assaulting three others.
The Forfar 54-year-old was cleared of three further charges after six hours of deliberation at Perth over alleged offences relating to a year-long period from June 2010.
Mechanic Jolly will be sentenced next month, but yesterday his wife and daughter spoke exclusively to The Courier, saying they did not agree with the jury’s verdict.
Jolly’s wife of 32 years, Lesley, and 30-year-old daughter Sarah have yet to speak to the husband and father following Monday’s outcome and were unable to confirm whether an appeal against the conviction will be lodged.
But they said they believed the father-of-two had not committed the crimes he has now been convicted of.
“We believe him when he says that he has admitted being with them, but has not done what he was found guilty of,” said 51-year-old Mrs Jolly.
