A CHRISTMAS video shot by Perth pupils is set to be an internet hit. The 5th and 6th year music students at Perth Academy have already had their efforts viewed by hundreds of YouTube users. Shot around the school, they give a funky festive rendition of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Star of Wonder. Their Christmas capers come with complex choreography and even some cameos from teaching staff, inclduding rector Andrew Smith. Music teacher Leah Farquhar explained: “Every year the senior choir gives a Christmas concert in St John’s and they did this arrangement. “Usually we film them but we forgot to take the equipment so we did a recording in class and, from there, the idea of doing a video emerged. “We did it over two periods and then one of the pupils, Iona Crosbie, took it all and edited it and posted it on YouTube. “We’ve had such good feedback from the staff that we’ve decided we will create a YouTube channel next year to upload the work they do.”
