NORTH SEA-focused Ithaca Energy is hoping to maintain oil production at similar levels to last year, despite the possibility of an extended shutdown at one of its fields.
The company said the MacCulloch field was offline after suffering suspected damage during recent extreme weather.
The firm said operator ConocoPhillips was investigating the damage, and a schedule for the repairs to be made.
When production will be resumed will become clear in the days ahead.
The firm said total net production in the final quarter of last year was 610,070 barrels an average of 6,631 barrels per day and a 31% increase on the previous three-month period.
The figures were boosted by a strong performance from the Athena field and production in line with forecasts from its Beatrice, Jacky, Cook and Broom interests.
Ithaca anticipated production of between 6,000 and 6,700 barrels per day this year, an estimate that takes into account the possibility of an extended shutdown at MacCulloch.
It expects capital expenditure to reach $360 million this year, with the development focus being on the Greater Stella Area in the central North Sea.
