Predator Jimmy Savile’s Scottish sex shame revealed
ByThe Courier Reporter
A REPORT into the full horror of Jimmy Savile’s sex abuse reveals he struck in Fife.
Savile, whose sex crimes against a Tayside woman in Liverpool came to light last year, is now known to have preyed on hundreds of victims across the UK, the youngest aged just eight.
Since the Metropolitan Police Service launched Operation Yewtree in October to investigate allegations against Savile, 450 people have come forward, most of them with claims of sexual abuse.
The force has recorded 214 offences against the former Jim’ll Fix It and Top of the Pops presenter, involving victims aged between eight and 47 at the time.
The shamed former television and radio star is believed to have carried out 34 rapes and 126 indecent assaults.
Five of his victims were abused in Scotland, including one in Fife.
Fife Constabulary was in the dark about the local incident until it was revealed on Friday in a joint report by the MPS and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), which outlined findings of Operation Yewtree.
