A serving police officer, who had been with Fife Constabulary for 25 “outstanding” years, has died. He was 45.
Fife Constabulary regretfully announced that Sergeant Kevin Adamson, from Limekilns, had passed away after a long battle against illness.
Born in St Andrews, Kevin joined Fife Constabulary in March 1987 serving the early part of his career in the Dunfermline and Oakley police stations.
In 1995, he transferred to the traffic department and also served for several years as an instructor at the Scottish Police College in Tulliallan.
He was promoted to a sergeant in 2005 and in recent years had worked at the Fife Constabulary headquarters in Glenrothes.
Kevin, who had been seriously ill for some time, died last weekend at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Lorraine, and their two daughters, Katie and Sarah.
Fife Constabulary Chief Constable Andrew Barker said: “Kevin gave 25 years of outstanding service to the people of Fife.
“He was a first-class officer who dedicated his life to the service of others.
“He will be sorely missed by his colleagues, who held him in great esteem.
“My thoughts, and the thoughts of the police officers and staff at Fife Constabulary, are with his family at this time,” added Mr Barker.
The funeral will be held at Limekilns Parish Church at 10.45am on Friday January 18 followed by a committal afterwards at Douglas Bank Cemetery, Pattiesmuir.
