A pair of brothers who have become well known in North East Fife hotel and catering circles over the past decade are moving on to pastures new in Dundee.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that Grant Hughes (32), a partner in the Kingarroch Inn at Craigrothie with his brother Paul since February 2010, will cease trading at the end of the month.
The news comes just two months after the Kingarroch closed its restaurant at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews to concentrate efforts on the Kingarroch Inn.
Grant told The Courier that they had not been able to secure a satisfactory lease with the Kingarroch Inn owner and were taking the opportunity to move on to a new business venture in Dundee.
Mr Hughes said: “Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a position where we are coming to the end of our current lease at the Kingarroch Inn.
“We have been unable to negotiate a satisfactory lease going forward and as such have decided to cease trading at the end of January.”
The Hughes brothers intend to run a new food-led pub operation at the premises previously occupied by Mickey Coyles.
