An altercation between two strangers left a clubber with a broken jaw, Perth Sheriff Court heard. Sean Ferns punched a fellow reveller so hard in the face that he was left with several fractures and required surgery. The 20-year-old bumped into his victim as he stood outside the Loft nightclub on South Street. The complainer had earlier been ejected, but was in good spirits and was speaking to door staff. However, he became involved in a “heated” discussion with the accused when Ferns punched him. The court heard that the victim returned home and when his wife saw the extent of his injuries, she made him go to Perth Royal Infirmary. He had sustained a fracture to the left side of his jaw, as well as some damage to the right side. Ferns, of Hazel Hill, Glenrothes admitted that on November 24 last year, at the Loft, he assaulted a man and punched him on the face to his injury. He was made the subject of a community payback order, which includes the condition that he perform 110 hours of unpaid work.
