Dundee concert to raise cash for Anna Penman’s fund

A concert will be held in Dundee this month to raise money for a disabled girl.
Anna Penman (4), from Linlithgow, has spinal muscular atrophy. Her muscles are very weak, leaving her unable to walk and with restricted arm movement.
In a further blow, in 2011 she was diagnosed with leukaemia.
Her grandmother Veronica Whiteside said: “As far as we know, nobody has ever had both conditions before, so there is no precedent for treatment.
“The life-saving chemotherapy has had a devastating impact on the little strength she had left in her legs.
“Anna is a beautiful, gorgeous little girl. She is a typical four-year-old. She loves Disney princesses and just about anything pink. She is a bright, assertive and determined young lady.
“She doesn’t let SMA or leukaemia get in the way of anything she wants to do.”
Her family have set up a fund to buy specialist equipment.
To aid this, a concert organised by Moyra Foley and featuring fiddler Elisabeth Flett is being held at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Byron Street, on Sunday, February 17 at 5pm.
