Two wheels did better than four for Halfords in the last six months, the company said.
The cycling, leisure, automotive and garage service retailer reported group revenues up 6.8%.
Cycling revenue was up 16.0% but car maintenance rose only 3.7% and car enhancement was down 1.4%. Travel solutions were up 3.9% and Autocentres up 4.4%.
Halfords acclaimed the further success of its Getting Into Gear Retail strategy, with 46 stores trading under a refreshed format, and the launch of Car Parts Direct was another highlight.
A new cycle brand, 13, was launched, and there was also the £14 million acquisition of Boardman Bikes.
