An Angus teenager has taken himself to the brink of losing his licence before even passing his driving test.
Seventeen-year-old Connor Massie, of Market Street, Brechin, was fined £300 and given seven penalty points after appearing before Sheriff Gregor Murray at Forfar, where he admitted driving in Brechin on August 11 without insurance or a licence.
Depute fiscal Hannah Kennedy said Massie took a spin in a friend’s vehicle, but was seen by police parking outside a youth centre in the town.
“Because of his youth, they were suspicious that he wasn’t of an age to drive and the offences came to light,” added the fiscal.
Defence agent Bill Rennie said: “He has been driving for years on his grandfather’s farm and was stupidly tempted by the offer from a friend to use the car.”
