Two cars collided on the B939 Strathkinness road shortly before 11am. Firefighters from St Andrews had to stabilise the vehicle before using hydraulic cutting equipment to free the woman. She was rushed to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, by ambulance. Three other people were taken to the hospital for checks.
