US veteran uses Dundee University talk to denounce America’s Middle East policy

A US Army veteran delivered an impassioned talk on his country’s policies towards the Middle East during a meeting at Dundee University.

During the meeting, which was organised by the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Mike Prysner who took part in the US invation Iraq denounced US policy as nothing more than a blatant move to safeguard access to oil and other lucrative markets in the Middle East.

He said, “I was talking from first-hand experience of the initial invasion of Iraq and the reasons for that and other US action in the region.

“We’re now bogged down in Afghanistan and Iraq and the reality is that war, and all the money and soldiers involved in that war are nothing to do with the defence of our countries or the people of Iraq.”
