Council rewards student Jekaterina Dmitrijeva’s Lochee High Street vision

A Dundee University student has been recognised for her trail-blazing vision of Lochee High Street.

City development convener Will Dawson yesterday presented third-year planning student Jekaterina Dmitrijeva with a civic award at the city chambers.

Ms Dmitrijeva won the title for her course-work submission, which aims to improve and enhance the urban character of Lochee High Street and the surrounding area.

Claire Myles was second and Bruce Risk was third.

Afterwards Mr Dawson said, “I am very impressed by the high standard of these projects. There were a number of innovative and imaginative ideas entered.

“The winner was a well thought-out look at the continuing enhancement of Lochee.”
