Dundee City Council employees have been granted a day off for the royal wedding on April 29.
At a meeting of the policy and resources committee, councillors agreed that the additional day of annual leave be granted to allow employees to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Employees will be invited to apply for the day off.
Schools across the city will be closed, although some council offices will remain open, and all applications for leave will be subject to the exigencies of the service, the council say.
Staff who do work on that day will be entitled to take an annual leave day at a later date.
