Valleyfield Snowdrop Festival visitors look skywards

Young visitors reached for the stars at the Valleyfield Snowdrop Festival at the weekend.

West Fife Woodlands has teamed up with the Riding for the Disabled Association’s (RDA) Dunfermline branch to stage a number of events at Valleyfield Woodland Park over the five-week run of the festival.

There have been guided walks and The Enchanted Wood an open-air performance by Kinetic and still to come is a woodland craft fair on Saturday.

At the weekend it was a chance to look up from blankets of snowdrops and the remnants of a Humphry Repton-designed landscape to take part in Dark Skies.

The Starlab show features hands-on activities for younger visitors, including demonstrations on making comets and building and launching rockets.
